your first console

Postby happysister » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:12 pm

reminiscing time!!!!!

so yeah. what was the very first console you ever owned? and how did you get it?

i remember one Christmas when i was in like...maybe 3rd or 4th grade maybe? i opened a large present and there it was. my very own Nintendo Entertainment System. the first video game system i ever owned. i forgot what game it came with. i think it was Super Mario Bros or something. my aunt and uncle also gave me a few of their old games to add to my tiny collection. eventually, at the end of it's life, i ended up owning 20+ games for the system. the most i ever owned on any system. fun times, man, fun times.

The NES, when I lived in NY. My mom didn't actually buy it for me, but for her, since she played Mario and all that.

Original Nintendo Gameboy. If that doesn't count, then I had the Super Nintendo

eh, it's a handheld console. it counts. :P i had one of those too, and a nice big case in the shape of a Game Boy to carry it, my games, and any accessories i had for it. i remember hauling it to school one day when it was "bring your favorite game to school" day.

My friend owned a Nintendo system so that was kind of the first one. The first system we really owned was a SNES with Mario Kart, a football game, Lion King, and one of the Donkey Kong games. Later on we got a few others including Super Mario RPG.

SNES was prolly the best console ever in my opinion. the variety of games it had was remarkable. they had something for everyone. the SNES was the first console i actually bought with my own money. that was back when the N64 came out. they were going cheap, lol. it came with one of those Super Game Boy adapters that lets you play Game Boy games on the SNES. the first SNES game i got was Goof Troop.

My first console was the Atari 2600. We have about 3 of them still. I used to play this all the time, some of my favorite games ever are games from this. Pac-Man, Asteroids, Yars' Revenge, etc. Those were great games. My all time favorite though was a game called River Raid, where you basically flew planes down a river and had to blow up every enemy ship and/or plane you saw.
Rational and Reasonable, two characteristics widely missed these days.

1st System I played when I was 4 was the SNES. I remember like it was only yesterday when I played sonic and Super Mario Bros for the SNES. -*sighs*- I loved the old days when the old nintendo games were popular.
